Soundtrap for Education empowers students and teachers to explore creative sound recording in all subjects, for all ages and ability levels.
How will the project be evaluated (e.g. how will you gauge its success)
Success looks like engaged and enthusiastic middle school students (as well as myself). Most of my students love music. They take a music class only one period a week. Many of my students are asking for more. Especially at this age, music is a very important part of their lives. I would love to help them incorporate this love of music into their academic experience.
Benefit to the students and the school
I will use Soundtrap for my middle school students in the following ways:
Students will create podcasts in a wide variety of subjects.
Students will create personal narrative poetry.
Students will demonstrate an understanding of rhythm in poetry by creating hip-hop versions of Shakespeare’s sonnets.
Students will be able to use Spanish to greet, present and perform.
Students will describe the atomic structure of an element and demonstrate their understanding of a chemical element and its properties, discovery, and everyday use by creating a song.
Students will compose a piece of music in relation to an inspiration by effectively producing sounds together in a digital audio workstation.
Students will create a collaborative radio commercial for an actual product.
