Sensory Reinforcement Area

Project Description
The NECC Partner Program is looking to adding a sensory reinforcement area for the 5 students in our program. All students in the program are severely autistic and would benefit from an area that includes bean bags, lamps to have natural light with special lightbulbs, an area rug and sensory chairs.

How will the project be evaluated (e.g. how will you gauge its success)
It has a positive impact on one’s mood, perceptions, health and attitude.

Benefit to the students and the school
Our students are successful when we supply them with tools to foster independence and positive reinforcement. Students that have a sensory processing disorder need natural lighting.
