School Mural and Community Project

Plymouth South Middle School

Project Description
The school mural will be an after school project that will enhance our school spirit by students creating our school mascot. The community project is the resurfacing of the “pink ladies” from BID which are 13 life size silhouettes of all different walks of life. These silhouettes were created several years ago by PCIS students to promote the awareness of breast cancer. The silhouettes need to be repainted and restored. We would also like to add 1-2 additional silhouettes to the group.

How will the project be evaluated (e.g. how will you gauge its success)
Success of the mural is a finished art piece that will be a permanent installation for our school.

Success of the silhouettes will be measured by the traveling of the “pink ladies” through our town and state (as well as, other locations through out the nation as they have traveled outside in the past) .

Benefit to the students and the school
Create more school spirit amongst the students and staff, as well as bringing awareness of the risk and early prevention of breast cancer to our students and our community.
