Literary Magazine Club

Project Description
Literary Magazine Club is a student-run club that meets every Friday during school and once a month after school and is aimed at bringing students of all grades and interests together to help create a magazine that is reflective of and celebrates the artistic work produced by students at Plymouth North High School. The Club aims to celebrate written work created by students, from poetry to short stories to memoirs, to photography, painting and illustrations, etc. This Club allows students who are involved to organize in a manner that invites marketing and advertising our magazine, soliciting and marketing for submissions from students, and then sifting through submissions for final selections to be published in the magazine. Students are very passionate about giving the student body a space to celebrate creative work reflective of our school community, and really want to be able to produce a printed magazine in the spring.

How will the project be evaluated (e.g. how will you gauge its success)
The ultimate indicator of success for Lit Mag Club would be to be able to produce an actual publication of the magazine.

Benefit to the students and the school
This magazine is something students will spend hours soliciting material for both written and visual art forms, and then will work to filter submissions, format the magazine layout, etc. and produce an actual magazine. The students and school are greatly impacted by this project as it gives them voice through publication and celebrates so many of the amazing artistic creations and compositions created in our school community!

Timeline of Project (when will you do the project, if applicable)
For now, we are marketing and soliciting work, and then will begin our review process in February, and would like to begin the compilation of the magazine by March. Printed magazines would aim to be completed by May.
