Project Description
Parents and students with work together to learn and implement composting into our daily school activities. We will educate, collect and compost. In the spring we will utilize the compost functionally in our gardens and science plant cycle projects.
How will the project be evaluated (e.g. how will you gauge its success)
We will see a reduction in the amount of garbage and waste sent to the landfill.
Benefit to the students and the school
Education on what is compostable vs. recycling. Learn to be better consumers and aware of our impact on our community and environment. Utilize the knowledge to benefit plant growth and local farming.
Timeline of Project (when will you do the project, if applicable.)
We expect to implement the training for kitchen staff and students in October 2015 and utilize the program through the end of school in June.
