Project Description
This year, we have transitioned from a Horace Mann Charter School to an Innovation School and our new mascot is the owl. The culminating project will be a book created by the students that shows the owl’s characteristics as they relate to our school’s philosophy and expectations.
How will the project be evaluated (e.g. how will you gauge its success)
This plan will be successful if the project is completed.
Benefit to the students and the school
A final book published and shared with the entire school community will be on display in our office, library, art room, classrooms, etc. The students will all participate in the owl research and prewriting steps. The final product, the book, will be available for all students to access and they will learn the expectations and values of our school.
Timeline of Project (when will you do the project, if applicable)
By the end of the 2019-2020 school year, the students will have participated in a year long research project about the owl, our new school mascot.
