Project Description
The goal of this project is to create a realistic mural of the aquatic life and some well known Cape Cod landmarks on the walls of the middle school cafeteria. Our objective is to capture the essence of what defines Cape Cod in terms of its rich tradition of sea life and historical seashore character. As a team, students and instructor will decide what subject matter works best for various segments of the overall design.
How will the project be evaluated (e.g. how will you gauge its success)
The true measure of success with any work of art is in the eye of the beholder. We hope the end product will be accurate in terms of its relation to Cape Cods tradition and we want to complete our project in a timely manner. We are also hoping that anyone outside the direct school community who has the opportunity to view our mural will express their opinions in a positive and enthusiastic manner!
Benefit to the students and the school
The students and school community have the satisfaction of walking into the lunch room and absorbing the pleasing environment of an aquatic wonderland! The rich colors alone can have a calming effect on the human nervous system. Combined with the visual effect of breaching whales and colorful fish, this rich tapestry will help motivate both students and faculty to embrace the environment in which they live.
Timeline of Project (when will you do the project, if applicable)
We plan to begin our project by the start of October and be finished by the end of the holiday season or early spring.
